National Pollution Control Day is honoured every year on December 2. It honours those who died in the Bhopal Gas catastrophe on December 2nd and 3rd in 1984. Thousand of people died in Bhopal on that day due to leakage of deadly gas MIC, Methyl Isocyanate. The Bhopal Gas Tragedy is one of the deadliest industrial pollution catastrophes in the history.

On this day in December, almost 45 tonnes of the hazardous gas methyl isocyanate (MIC) escaped from a chemical plant owned by the Indian unit of the American company Union Carbide Corporation. Within minutes, the poisonous gas killed thousands of people.

This day is celebrated to create awareness among people to prevent any industrial disasters. The day is dedicated to encourage people and industries to adopt pollution control measures to create awareness about environmental pollution.

The significance of celebrating the National Pollution Control Day is to avoid similar catastrophes like the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and save the earth from the damage caused by pollution.

Every year, around 7 million people die in India due to air pollution, with indoor air pollution killing 4 million. It is believed that nine out of 10 people on the planet do not have access to clean air.

World Computer Literacy Day was launched in 2001 by an Indian company called N.I.I.T to celebrate its 22nd anniversary. Founded in 1981 by Rajendra Singh Pawar and Vijay K. Thadani, N.I.I.T, which stands for National Institute of Information Technology, is a skills and talent development company.

2022 marks the 22nd World Computer Literacy Day.

World Computer Literacy Day was established by an Indian computer company, the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), in 2001 to mark NIIT's 20th anniversary.

NTPC Ltd commissions India's first green hydrogen blending project. The green hydrogen blending has been started in the piped natural gas (PNG) network of NTPC Kawas township, Surat.

The project is a joint effort of NTPC and Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL).

Green hydrogen when blended with natural gas reduces CO2 emissions. This feat has been achieved only by few countries like UK, Germany, and Australia.

PM SHRI Schools will showcase all components of the National Education Policy 2020.

Scheme of PM SHRI schools (PM ScHools for Rising India) is to be implemented as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme with a total project cost of Rs. 27360 crore which includes a central share of Rs. 18128 crore for the period of five years from year 2022-23 to 2026-27.
