Report titled, "Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion : 2022” was prepared incoordination with WMO (World Meteorological Organization), UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and European Commission.

It is published every four years on Montreal Protocol (MP) progress.

The ozone layer is on track to recover and is expected to heal in the next four decades fully. In its report, the Scientific Assessment Panel to the Montreal Protocol on Ozone Depleting Substances claimed that the ozone layer will be fully recovered by 2066.

The Earth’s protective ozone layer, which shields the planet from harmful ultraviolet radiation & plays a crucial role in protecting the Earth from the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. This radiation has been linked to a range of negative effects on human health, including skin cancer, eye cataracts, and compromised immune systems, as well as damage to agricultural land.

In the 1980s, a hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica was first discovered, which prompted international efforts to combat the problem.

ODS are long-lived man-made chemicals which destroy protective ozone layer.

Montreal Protocol :- The Montreal Protocol is an international treaty designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of numerous substances that are responsible for ozone depletion. It was agreed on 16 September 1987, and entered into force on 1 January 1989. 

India became a party to the Montreal Protocol in 1992.

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly referred to as COP26, was the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference, held at the SEC Centre (Scotland's largest exhibition centre) in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, from 31 October to 13 November 2021. The president of the conference was UK cabinet minister Alok Sharma.

Delayed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the third meeting of the parties to the 2015 Paris Agreement (designated CMA1, CMA2, CMA3), and the 16th meeting of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP16).

Union India-Myanmar-Thailand interconnection plan is in line with OSOWOG programme under International Solar Alliance (ISA).  

OSOWOG was launched jointly by India and UK during COP 26 in 2021.

It will be developed under World Bank’s technical assistance.

The One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) is a transnational electricity grid supplying power all over the world. The idea was first proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s during the first assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) in 2018.

At the COP-26 climate summit in Glasgow, India launched "One Sun One World One Grid" (OSOWOG).

This initiative was jointly launched by the United Kingdom and in partnership with ISA and the World Bank Group.

Media :- Served as Editor of Hindustan. He started Abhyudaya (Hindi weekly, 1907), Maryada (Hindi monthly, 1910) and The Leader (English Daily, 1909).

:- In 2015, he was posthumously conferred with Bharat Ratna.

Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao, a prominent Indian-American mathematician and statistician, will receive the 2023 International Prize in Statistics, the equivalent to the Nobel Prize in the field, for his monumental work 75 years ago that revolutionised statistical thinking.


This award is considered the Nobel Prize in the field of Mathematics.  He will be presented with this award at the biennial International Statistical Institute World Statistics Congress to be held in Canada this July.

President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the "Bhoroxa" (Trust) App launched, it is related to Women's Safety.


The app, which includes various helpline numbers across the state and women-related schemes, will help women in distress seek immediate help.


During an event organized at the Gauhati High Court in Assam, President Draupadi Murmu launched the "Bhoroxa" (Trust) App for women's safety. In case of distress, women will be able to send SOS messages to emergency contact numbers with geolocation and make calls by shaking the phone. Internet connectivity is not mandatory to use this app. The Chief Justice of India also unveiled two apps on the website of the e-Seva Kendra for Assam.

Jyotirao Govindrao Phule (11 April 1827 – 28 November 1890) was an Indian social activist, businessman, anti-caste social reformer and writer from Maharashtra. His work extended to many fields, including eradication of untouchability and the caste system and for his efforts in educating women and oppressed caste people.


He and his wife, Savitribai Phule, were pioneers of women's education in India. Phule started his first school for girls in 1848 in Pune at Tatyasaheb Bhide's residence or Bhidewada. he honorific Mahātmā (Sanskrit: "great-souled", "venerable"), was first applied to him in 1888 at a special program honoring him in Mumbai.

According to the latest tiger census data released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the tiger population in India has reached 3,167 in 2022, which is a significant increase compared to the previous census figures of 1,411 in 2006, 1,706 in 2010, 2,226 in 2014, and 2,967 in 2018.


During the inauguration of the commemoration of 50 years of "Project Tiger", the Prime Minister also launched the "International Big Cat Alliance" that aims to protect and conserve seven major big cats worldwide, including tigers and lions.


"Project Tiger" is a tiger conservation programme launched in India on April 1, 1973, to protect and increase the tiger population in the country.
